Interior design of the model factory

As part of our project work for the interior design of the Open Industrial Training Center (OITC) model factory at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences, we created a concept for the cost-effective redesign of an old welding laboratory. Through comprehensive planning and digital visualization, we have created a detailed picture that shows the potential and possibilities of this space in all its diversity.

In the first step, the existing space had to be digitized in detail using plans and photos. In the next step, a division of the areas was created and displayed with different colors and icons as part of the concept. Our focus was not only to design the physical structure of the space, but also to create an atmosphere that would provide an inspiring environment for future users. Each element was selected and placed to achieve a harmonious and functional design.

Thanks to high-resolution renderings, we present the designs in a quality that creates a comprehensive, realistic image and serves as a means of communication in the search for partners for the project.

Structure of the model factory

The structure of the model factory is simple and effective. The different areas are clearly marked by corresponding colors and icons, which ensures easy orientation. Thanks to these clear demarcations, the entire room is very clearly laid out and offers a safe working environment.

In addition, the spacious room offers sufficient space for meetings, design and creative work, production and testing.

We rose to these challenges

The challenge was to design a flexible and modern interior that would meet the diverse requirements of use. In particular, it was important to achieve a harmonious integration of the machines, work areas and a meeting corner without making the space appear cluttered. The requirement was not to make any structural changes to the room.

In order to meet this requirement, we developed a well thought-out spatial plan that allows the space to be used efficiently. Clever placement of the areas created clear working zones that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

The meeting corner was designed as a central meeting point. Particular attention was paid to ensuring that this area radiates an open atmosphere that invites exchange and creative collaboration.

Personal thoughts on the project

"A room that lives" was a central wish of the briefing. We rose to this challenge and designed a space that functions both virtually and in reality.

Through the clever use of colors, materials and furniture, we succeeded in creating an interior that is not only functional, but also has a modern and appealing aesthetic.

The communication with the project team was always friendly and goal-oriented. The collaboration was a great pleasure for all of us and we are very satisfied with the result.

Further information about the OITC can be found on the THA website.

The 3D renderings for Plant 1 of the OITC (Open Industrial Training Center) at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences were implemented quickly and professionally. The visualizations reflect our ideas of networked, flexible and safe production. We would like to thank WWM for the professional realization and the good and constructive cooperation.
